I needed 13 or 14 seals for the pneumatic. The cap on the outlet of the blower also needed to be sealed.

Well, the thread is not a waste....I just learned something lol
I didn't know sealing empties was a thing, but makes perfect sense as you guys explained.
I'm don't have much tanker experience and what i have is oilfield related so a.sealed empty would be unusual lolbentstrider83 and tscottme Thank this. -
best not move without washout or BoL stating last empty product either.tscottme Thanks this.

Yup, I've always havd a BOL with last product and residue marked on it.
It's always the same product for us, oilsands slurry for one set of tanks and water for the other set of tanks. I rarely move them though. -
Foodgrade is sealed after wash. Good for 72 hrs.
bentstrider83 and Albertaflatbed Thank this. -
Kosher washes must be sealed, back in the day there wasn't an established wash rack offering Kosher washes anytime.
Don't know the process today but the Kosher wash used to be supervised/inspected by a Rabi. We used to get visits from a Rabbi from OK labs in Brooklyn and his seal had the stylized 'K' you see on Kosher food labels.
On arrival at the shipper the tractor stainless steel pump was inspected by another Rabi before pumping the load on from a railcar.
We were doing 'Kosher' coconut oil going to a vitamin plant.Oxbow, Albertaflatbed and tscottme Thank this. -
Some of our prepped trailers are sealed. They are pressurized with nitrogen.

Not sure if the kosher rules have actually changed or why….
But things are definitely different
I get washed out regularly at a Kosher Certified Washoit….Never seen a clergy member there
Recently hauled a load of beef outta Grand Islsnd to Bronx
And the load was split…Kosher/Non Kosher never believed this was ok But assured by both shipper& receiver it’s common practice today
And I remember the days of Rabbis supervision at both ends etc -
I remember the first Kosher certified wash I knew of [Gateway, Carteret, NJ] and I remember they worked hard to get the certification.
It's been some time since so things have been modified.‘Olhand Thanks this.
