I've been watching a guy on YouTube that pulls end dump for oakley. He sweeps the trailer ever load is that normal? How do guys without a man door get in and out? Climb over the side? Go in the back? Been looking at trailers online and a bunch don't have a man door.

Never even knew they came with a door. Never seen a dump of any kind have an access door.
okiedokie, Magoo1968, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have a man door, prior to that we had steps welded on the inside to climb in and out, but they didn’t last long when you’re hauling scrap. I see guys carry a ladder, and just barn door after they’re empty and climb in that way. And yes, there’s a lot of sweeping to be had, especially at Oakley because they’re so diverse in what they haul.

Our end dumps have a couple of steps on the outside of the front bulkhead. We've never had one with a man door.

The company added them in, key is get and make a good deal, or else they’re worthless.

They are required for asbestos/pcb/most has when they line the trailer, honestly they are more of a pain in the ### then they are worth IMO, although it is nice as a bathroom door in the rain being able to leave the tarp closed, easier to climb over for plastic/sweeping

We have man doors also. It makes getting in and out a lot easier than climbing over the side especially when it’s icy. As @abyliks said it’s also nice to have an employee only restroom should the situation become dire as well. 10/10 would recommend.
