I agree with those that posted get as many as you can. This gives you more options for loads and jobs. Between CSA and Drivers getting out of the industry there will be more job opportunties if your CSA score is low.

Just get everything knocked out in one shot. If you retest for endorsements at a later time, your DMV will charge you a reprinting fee for your CDL. Good luck though.

Everyone here is telling you the correct thing. The extra endorsements are free the first time but if you add them later you have to pay a fee each time you make a change. All the endorsements are, in most states, is another written test. Don't let it go to your head. Having a license to pull triple tankers full of sulfuric acid with school kids riding in your sleeper with a motorcycle doesn't mean it is a good idea.

The TWIC card is expensive but if you are going to pull reefers, it is needed. The Passport is something I have carried for 30 plus years. I believe everyone should be required to have one. Companies which have no feelings as they are just pieces of paper have human resource departments that Love TWIC cards and Passports. Driving into Canada is something you might never do but the ability to do so really increases who you can work for.

When you go in to interview for a job, it is a good idea to carry your hunting, fishing, pilot, and other licenses. Anything you can have in common with your interviewer helps.

Now what I can't understand is why you would sell your Harley and your boat to get into trucking. We are all in trucking with the hope of someday buying a Harley or a boat.

thanks for the advice. ill defiantly be going back to get endorsements.as far as the harley goes its just a sporster, used to be fun to ride by my self now enjoy it better with my better half with me. but a sportster is a little short for comfort for that so the rides have to be shorter. selling jon boat im keeping my bass boat. i need enough money to live on and pay my bills while i go to school. the job i have now (plumbing) is not doing it for me any more because of bad econmy and i hate the repair side of it. just need a change of lifestyle i reckon and always thought about trucking and seeing places.

get the endorsements even tho u may not use them. i just re-picked upmy hazmat after i dropped it 4 years ago. had to pay and test and i dont even need it now. kinda a waste but i guess its good to have just in case. odds are u prolly drive a box that doesnt require anything but just in case u get a job that hauls some hazmat or something. a lot more options.
