Put a claim on his company.

get set for small claims court, get department of labor, irs, and the bbb on him.
Get OOIDA involved.

It’ll cost him more to fight it, so he’ll pay to make it go away.

 

Wasn’t there a member from here on another thread that said paying into escrow as a company driver wasn’t a problem?

Me personally i would not even have an escrow account with any company unless it was required for plates and legal stuff.... There is to many ways they can keep your money when u jump ship... Read your contract it will tell you all the things you have to do to get that money back.. Some of them are just short of hiring a stunt monkey and having him jump thru a flaming ring of fire with an evil knivel vest on to get you money back...

 

Ab5 is only to protect the stupid from stupid decisions... Which we all know hurts everybody else... We dont need the government to protect anybody that cant read.. Its a free country, you make your own decisions. If you decide to get into a ####ty deal with ####ty terms, dont cry when you get it shoved in your ###...

 

The law is the law obviously the driver was wrongful misclasified all I want is the laws on the books enforced

 

I think Illinois has the Employee Classification Act. California has AB5 and since you support AB5 I'm guessing you already know that. So maybe you're trying to say you want AB5 in Illinois also, or at the Federal level, or Antonio Brown got picked up by Da Bears?

Would you support a federal law mandating all occupants of motor vehicles wear a helmet?

Will you support lowering the speed limit to 15 mph to greatly reduce traffic fatalities?

You do understand that your current business is illegal under AB5 ... you either run under your own authority or you're an employee. No middle ground.

And even authority potentially may limit who's freight you can pull. Direct customers and non capacity based brokers only.
