About a month ago I got cut off by a trucker driving a dual-rig in Lincoln, NE. He swerved across my lane, nearly hitting my car, and forced his way in to the turn lane on my left. This very nearly caused a wreck, and with pulling two trailers instead of one, was just plain stupid.
I called the Estes home office to file a complaint that very day. I left a message and my number, but got no call back. A week later, I called again to ask who I should talk to. I called multiple people, leaving TWO numbers they could call to reach me back. One of them was even a manager. Now, more than a month later, I STILL haven't gotten ANY reply AT ALL.
Not only are Estes drivers inconsiderate and DANGEROUS given this behavior, but the home office staff doesn't even CARE.
Don't use Estes for anything. Vitran, Old Dominion, YRC, NTC, and basically every other freight line I've worked with have better rates, coverage, and more responsible drivers, not to mention a more responsive home office crew. Estes is trash.
P.S. If anyone can recommend another place for me to post this, or someone I can call to report negligence/dangerous driving, please let me know. None of the Estes trailers I've seen even have a number to call to report this stuff (showing that they know they're terrible and don't want to be called on it).

One bad driver doesn't speak for a whole company
gsmith2332, DTP, JReding and 10 others Thank this. -
Dual rig pulling two trailers? Estes in heavy haul now?
buddyd157 Thanks this. -
No, it doesn't. Which is why I included the multiple people at the home office that didn't even bother to reach out to me. Now there's a bad driver and an irresponsible home office; I can't see any upside there.

Why did you wait a month to report something like this?
-
I didn't. I attempted to report the incident to Estes the same day. I know that companies prefer to handle issues internally, and typically give benefit-of-the-doubt that they care and will do something about problems like this. I'm trying to shed light on the issue NOW because it's been a while and Estes has done nothing to address it after I tried on several occasions to get their attention.

You should try their social media page, facebook and others, they will respond right away, especially if you have video. I posted a video of an aggressive murderous UPS driver up on the UPS facebook page, within 5 minutes it was down but I got a ton of emails from UPS wanting to know where/when/ this video was taken so they could track down the driver.
tinytim Thanks this. -
I wish I had video. My phone was put away at the time, and I had to react really fast, or else I would have recorded it. I checked their FB page and will probably post there. They seem to use it mostly to communicate transit delays and such.

I'm not sure exactly what you were expecting here, but when you report an incident like this to a company's safety department, all they do is fill out a form and follow up with the driver, because unless there was a collision involved it basically comes down to one person's word against the other with no proof in either direction.
Furthermore, as previously noted one linehaul driver is hardly representative of a carrier's entire staff.crb, snowlauncher, 88 Alpha and 5 others Thank this.
