If I were behind you at the stop sign I’d hope that after about 5 minutes you’d have enough common sense with your high I.Q. that you’d make a right turn and find an alternate way to go.

Like yesterday for example, I had to stop at Peterbilt in Altoona. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to turn left out of their driveway onto Delaware because of the traffic volume so I used the thinker on my shoulders and I made a right. I went about a mile north out of my way to get back on I-35 south so I could get back to I-80.

I pull up at the stop sign, close my eyes and go. Works every time.

Many times going the other direction is not an option for me. 11, 6 underpass, no trucks allowed, bridge weight limit.
This is just what I encountered last week.

I do want to make it clear that if there is are other options I will take them even if its going to make my day longer.
One place I used to go to I actually took a much longer way home just to avoid a couple intersections that forced you to wait forever or do something like described. The long way around in that case was almost 40 min more to my day but I made up for it with a stop at one of my favorite places for a steak sub and slice of pizza.

I think they may be full of it! Have never had to deal with deliveries to some places that have you off the beaten path. Or are that one that sits at the intersection for 20 light cycles, waiting for the stars to align just right and till they get drivers that feel sorry for them and stop the traffic themselves to let them out.
With that last one think about that driver that pulls out so late and slow that no one else ever gets threw the intersection and the line of traffic that's behind waiting at what is normally a rather quick moving intersection.

This is the part you have to learn, I do it all the time. It's not 'bullying'.

1 in 5 cars will figure out the predicament you're in, and work with you to give you some room. Sure, it might take a light change or two, but if you keep cool, and make eye contact, and FRIENDLY gestures with traffic, you'll get around.

You didn't say if 'Oak Street' was 2 or 4 lane, and what could you have done to use it to advantage - (like hang to the left, or in opposing lane in order to get you more room).

I would come up, knock on your window, smile politely, and request you to make a right turn so I could right behind you. See, your saving time cost us both 4 hours and 10 minutes instead of 10 minutes.

All this is true for me as well (except I did not encounter this just last week). That's why I only wind up deliberately stopping in the middle of the street to block traffic from the left when I make a left-hand turn only about once per year.

Can you please take some bleach and a scouring pad to that Freightliner pull out table before you post anymore traffic intersection masterpieces?

    It's kinda cringy....
