Why do drivers focus on after-tax numbers? What if the guy has 9 kids? Lol

Nope, his first three months. He texted them to me as I'm going into driving and I asked. I know two people at Swift, both fairly new, both have similar stories. Sorry if this doesn't fit your "swift"narrative.

 

Except net is a smaller number than gross.

If we're considering bennies like has been brought up, I guess you'd have to say X gross + Y in benefits. Because net has far too many variables. You need a baseline.

 

Okay, so I think I’ve got it.

- Big Maud is gross.
- Net is gross minus Big Maud
- Bennies has something to do with Big Maud, but will remain unmentionable.
- Your bank account might not show it, but time spent with Big Maud will make you feel like a million bucks.

 

Big Maud will make your toes curl. That's for sure.

 

It goes back to claiming 9 dependents, not having deductions for taxes, medical, 401k, etc.
