Struggling to make a living and taking care of our family of four has generated much frustration especially regarding equipment.
With great luck have agreed to purchase a 2010 Pete (my first) with 671000km (417000mi) that has a rebuilt engine under warranty (1 year warranty on the work) with numerous other work done. This agreement includes the purchase of a flatbed and work for this equipment.
The owner, whose operating authority will be working under, is an older man, old school, that seals deals with his word, handshake then, has his staff followup with the paperwork.
So many holes could be poked into this situation from how it reads but this is just an introduction and does not reveal the investigation into the truck, the company, the dealer, and the work.
That aside, as the title reads happy to be a trucker again but with some changes, all self-imposed, and becoming a owner/operator. Previously done but with a 2 axle straight truck remaining local in my home city in Canada.
Happy to be on a learning curve again and look forward to reading all the posts that one can use to be a better trucker. In that vein hope to contribute information that helps others. At this point I will mention one poster who has helped me along this learning curve and given me faith but, not taking away from other posters who make huge contributions, I take the time to thank RaWze. Apparently, I've agreed to purchase an engine identical to the one he has and, knew from the start that the pollution controls would be a challenge (note his name highlighted in cummins red). Undaunted I still agreed to the purchase and after the fact found information herein that gives me faith of succeeding.
Another trucker that has given inspiration, in a different way, but with equal importance for me, is Sergie Dratchev, a Youtube enthusiast. Think he sparked the flame to ignition on this new chapter in my career.
Have many mountains to climb and challenges to tackle I take the plunge jumping in with both feet, eyes as wide as possible.
