You are correct in that there have been no changes. The rules have always mandated that your log be kept current to your last change of duty status, and that your time is accurately recorded based upon how you actually spent your time. If you're inside the truck stop, you cannot be in the sleeper, and if you're in the sleeper, you aren't off duty. To log such is now and always has been a violation for log falsification, although it takes an officer bound and determined to write you up for something to really push that issue because time spent on either line counts the same toward your break. You can alternate between lines 1 and 2 every 15 minutes on paper (or every minute on elogs) for 10 straight hours and you've completed your break so long as you haven't dropped onto line 3 or 4 during that time.
Explain like I'm five the 10 hour break rule in the sleeper?

To answer the question about log books it is part of a drivers duties and by definition ON DUTY so if a sharp DOT wants to he can get you for logging sleeper to off duty.
You log sleeper when it is required and it is not required on a 10 hr break. A 10-2 split yes I don't know about teams. -
I'll wait for the answer but I bet it will create more questions -
