Ck equipment and stowers cat are pretty good to deal with. I've picked up out of lavarne a little bit. Can't remember their names thou.
snowman_w900 and cke Thank this. -
Call HO Bouchard in Hamden Maine they are the cheapest of the cheap.W900AOwner and cke Thank this.

Funnily enough - my brain also recorded ‘connestoga ‘ when I first read it.snowman_w900, cke, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.

I agree new to middle drivers feel they are forced to pull loads cheap.
The laws of supply and demand often times dictate the circumstances. Drive 400 miles for $800 (which we have been forced into many time on Legal stepdeck loads) or deadhead back to camp for FREE. Or in reality -$560
Double Dime and cke Thank this. -
Did you get your machine moved, hope all is well and went well
TNSquire Thanks this. -
That particular machine ended up not passing muster with my mechanic
Even so, I learned a lot from this thread, especially things from a drivers perspective.
That means a whole lot to me.

The post about using HO Bouchard, the "cheapest of cheap", would have been the way to go, LOL.
O'halloran Transport up in Maine has a fleet of specialized lowbeds and RGN combinations, but he ain't the cheapest of cheap that's for sure. Only when he brokers something out, that becomes a reality then. -
TNSquire, are you a used equipment dealer, buyer/seller by any chance...or was that machine in Maine a one-and-done deal? Just curious.
TNSquire Thanks this. -
No, not a dealer. My partner and I are launching a new venture, figuring out the equipment aspects of the equation, to determine whether the dollars make sense or not
I'm a Sawmill man by trade, venturing into logging and parallel business models.
I got my class a permit last October, with the intent of driving, but that hasn't panned out as expected .
We've had a few things fall into our laps since, and we explore each to determine viability.
We're on the brink of something huge, and heavy transport is part of the deal.
Folks here are a wealth of knowledge, and that's a huge benefit.
It helps me understand both sides of the equation... I need stuff moved, and I can't do it myself. I need a driver with the means and ability to do it safely, smartly, and at a fair dollar that works for us both.
I don't want to bend any driver over a barrel, but I also don't want to spend more than necessary.
Understanding both sides helps me make an informed decision that's beneficial for us both
It's unlikely I'll ever be a professional driver, but it's sure that I'll need professional drivers with my ventures.
The forest is my calling.
The knowledge I gain here helps me better honor all parts of the equation, determine what's reasonable and what isn't, the behind the scenes requirements that I may not be aware of, and the impacts it carries beyond the surface of what's visible.nikmirbre, Oxbow, Razororange and 1 other person Thank this.
