During the truck strike in '82 I put my truck in a factory Cummins shop to be overhauled. Told them only one guy works on it.
They were swamped and said they couldn't tie up a bay like that.
I said what about pushing it out at the end of day shift and pushing it back in the morning.
They agreed if I paid a hour each push.
    And that's what we did.
Best overhaul ever. No problems at all.
I only lived 10 miles away so I saw it out every night.

    Respectfully, I disagree.

But for a different reason. FCC knows what’s included in this extended warranty service because they help several drivers move from a Company Driver to move into O/O… they have the experience and first hand knowledge and helps us navigate these waters.

Is it “their truck”? No it’s not. Is it “their responsibility”? Again, no.

But we are “their drivers” and if this happened to me I would greatly appreciate “my company” helping me and they do more business with this company than any individual O/O will ever do.

so ya, I’d be calling Shane and I’d bet dollars to doughnuts that it gets straightened out. Either clarifying why it’s not included and why that impression was left so that it does NOT happen to the next Driver venturing into O/O … or, more likely, calling this company to find out why “their driver” just got lied to and screwed over.

One of the reasons I continue to consider going O/O is because FCC will have my back. They don’t want us screwed over and will help us.

    Again, said with respect.

I totally understand what you're saying and I thought @BigR was upset with FCC, which it turned out he wasn't. Nothing wrong with having help along the way but if it's my truck you can bet I would know exactly what was happening with it and go over every detail with the shop when I dropped it off.

I did know what was going on, so did Shane. Detroit decided to change the extended warranty package without telling FCC. Shane was as pissed as I am. So, even though I'd already paid for that service and planned my PM schedule around it, it didnt get done and nobody knew till I picked it up....With a clutch to make a decision on I wasn't expecting and windshield replacement to coordinate then reschedule again when they didn't get it outta the shop the day they said, along with making a last second change to have them do the trans & diff services and get a quote on that because I wouldn't have had time to get it done at FCC because Detroit didn't get it done till the weekend, I was a little to busy to ask "hey, you are doing the service I paid for right?"... and it doesn't matter if you go over every dam detail, as the past couple days prove, that still doesn't mean it's gonna get fixed the first time. It's not like I can sit in the shop and watch them!. And for the last time they aren't "help along the way", Shane’s support ( while it is a big help) is part of the package we pay for with the extended warranty. Once the warranty is up, yup I'm on my own, but even then, they're still involved because they pay the repair bills and processes the payments out of our maintenance accounts. So please, enough of the "if it was my truck I'd do this..." easy to say when you aren't in this situation. unless you're running under your own authority, someone is always involved in some way....sorry if I'm a little short tonight, but my fuse is pretty short right now.... also I just grabbed the last beer outta the fridge

    PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO MERGE ONTO A FREEWAY CORRECTLY, PLEASE STAY OFF THE ####ING FREEWAY

Northbound on 435 in KC a few minutes from the exit for the yard and some dumb four wheeler decides to merge at 35 mph in front of two trucks barreling towards them at 70…and they don’t speed up. They seemed completely oblivious to the fact that I laid on my horn and was forced to brake hard meaning there was now two vehicles traveling at 35 mph…putting both said ####### and me at risk. I even passed them while they were still dawdling around at 45-50, just completely unaware of anything. It sure woke me up though.

Also why is it always a Nissan Altima that pulls this ####. Unreal.

Expecting a call from safety in the next couple days.
