Are they still routing one hose into the duct for sleeper vents, that just ends up dissipating in the cabinet with very little airflow out of the vents? I took the hose out of the sleeper vent and directed it into the bunk and used a 12" oscillating fan pointed back towards the bed area to redirect it and it worked much better.

    dwells40 and cdavis188 Thank this.

I don't remember off hand how the hoses feed the vents, but both the bottom ones blow more air with the APU than the truck A/C. The vents for the top bunk kinda suck, though.

When I was there they just cut a hole in the OEM sleeper vent plenum located in the cabinet behinds driver's seat and shoved that flexible APU hose in it and I had horrible airflow out the vents.

On mine (2022 Freightliner) the APU duct blows out of a vent under the bunk facing forward. It’s right next to the air intake for the factory sleeper hvac system.
Usually on the really hot days I’ll idle for an hour or so to get everything cooled down then switch to the APU. It ain’t perfect but it beats the heck out of the 98 International cabover I started out in 20 years ago.

it’s gonna be another hot one. Barely past 8 am and it feels miserable at the CB yard

i hate that place. Thankfully i haven’t had to deal with it in awhile. I’d honestly rather go up to Sioux City and deal with the bad tempered unloading guy than go there

Finally got in a door after 2 hours, hopefully done in another hour. I’m out of hours anyway and the truck needs TLC so my next stop is Fremont. Will be hanging out for a 34 (unless they have something else to do with the 3 1/2 hours I have to run today and tomorrow :D

Discovered while I am sitting in Fremont on my reset it actually blows out of factory sleeper vents as well as the under bunk vent. I have my CPAP machine secured to the fridge tie down straps and use the fridge as my nightstand so I sleep with my head on the passenger side so I never noticed. Learn something new every day I guess.

    IH9300SBA and motocross25 Thank this.
