I ran to York PA on Monday for Wednesday morning Live Unload. It had plenty of time on it so I just enjoyed the view on the way. Had to wait five hours to get a reload but it was heading back to CB. Paper rolls heading to Papillion Monday. I’m dropping it at CB. I’ll either get a reload or end up taking the weekend off. Flexible here either way.

So not the best week but wheels were rolling most of the days, just not all day.

    Could be worse.

Definitely been slow. Last check was only 1300 miles (to be fair If it weren't for the payroll cutoff being moved up a day it'd be more than double that). Took a reset at home since I had oodles of time on my Clayton load and only had 12 hours left on my clock. When I deliver in Clayton in a couple of hours I'll be at 2000 for this week so hopefully this week will have passable income..

I got told on Wednesday about the time I was hitting the Kansas line to just go ahead and slow down cuz everything will be closed in Nebraska on Thursday when I was planning on emptying in North Platte!.. no one said a word when I accepted the load the day before or that morning when I loaded and sent an ETA in Dallas.. so I figure it was going to be fine we would have something on one of our yards if nothing else.. if anyone would have just given me a heads up I would have went home with it for a day. Instead I've been out here dragging my feet in this tin can the last day and a half waiting on the shipper to open at 6:00 a.m. this morning to pick up a load that was ready Wednesday afternoon

Ya, I get it but I think we forget that they may not know either. Hoping that something opens up between sending us a load but not knowing what the next solution is going to be. Sure, it doesn’t happen when freight is flowing but when it slows forecasting out becomes more difficult.

Just like my week, they didn’t know what my reload was going to be when they sent me into the NE before a holiday and I sat for five hours before the way out popped. I could have been sitting in PA over the holiday but it worked out.

Then multiply that times what 350 drivers?

anyway, I hope the freight picks up for all of us including our planners.

Oh they definitely knew who was and wasn't closed for the holiday especially the shippers in Nebraska it's not like they just called them up Wednesday afternoon and said oh by the way we're closed tomorrow

I didn’t drag my feet enough getting started this morning. Sitting at the TA in Clayton waiting for the load fairy.

Well, I’m being sent home for the weekend. Freight’s just really light.

Freight volume is making trucking extremely challenging for everyone's.

that doesn’t sound too good for me. I just dropped in Clayton and i’m sitting on the street waiting for a load. unfortunately i’m too far from home to be sent there for the weekend

in the meantime i’m going to sit here and read a book. Maybe set up my new microwave
