That reminds me of the old bridge over MO River in Lexington mo. I remember going over that bridge when I was a kid and it scared the hell out of me. It looked worse that that picture.

I think many of the folks that claim they aren't afraid of heights but still have some issues on bridges do so because of the motion.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

The old one in Greenville Ms. was nerve racking. New ones great. The Huey P Long bridge in New Orleans was always a death trap. I’d always straddle the center in a Truck with 4 ways on, holding up traffic. Parade of fingers afterwards. It’s been widened now. Much better. Still dangerous in a Truck, especially if heavy. Stop sign at bottom on the West Bank is dangerous. First trip in a Truck, I couldn’t stop. Still remember the look of terror on a 4 wheeler passengers face. It was close. I’d lived there 20 yrs earlier, don’t remember any stop sign. The Drivers down there are different. They speed up, instead of slowing down in rain, or around an ambulance, any dangerous situation. It’s like they try to outrun it. No point system. Get as many tickets as you can afford. Pay and keep driving like a maniac. Only way to get a suspension is Drunk Driving, or an unpaid ticket. They used to issue DL at 15 years old. 24 hr Alcohol, 18 yr old drinking age, what could possibly go wrong? Lol.
JolliRoger and The Railsplitter Thank this. -
Back in 16 a new bridge failed in nipigon Ontario it cut Canada in half .. they used improper fasteners which snapped one cold day about a month after it opened

Not to mention all of the bars in Louisiana that have drive through window with drinks to go. And I'm sure the people down there obey the do not break seal tag on the drink while driving. NotGrumppy, The Railsplitter and Rideandrepair Thank this.

How about putting the truck on a ferry. I forget where somewhere in New England my uncle had to use the ferry. Some old lady on there wasn't happy, she thought the truck was too much for the ferry
