This is kinda funny to me actually. I mean it should be a lesson in social experimenting lol.

First you guys ripped me apart for that JCT video where the driver was in the ending lane forcing his way in front of me.

Now I post a video where the role is reversed and I'm getting ripped again lol.

It's not really about the driving it is about me, you just are still pissed off about some video from a couple years ago admit it and get over it watch this video on its merits alone and post objectively.

This video was judged on its merits alone and the smart money says he wasn't in the right, but you are still driving like a swift trainee. In other words, you both got no business driving a civic, let alone a tractor trailer.

Thing is, we don't know the speeds of the two vehicles in question. I'm guessing leading into the situation, there was probably 15 MPH difference between you two. Wether you were going excessively slow, or he was going excessively fast, or both, we don't know.

If you had moved over too soon, he would have perhaps passed you on the right being the dick he probably was given his apparent disregard for 1-lane construction zones at night. If you moved over too late, you would have been on the NEGATIVE end of his video showing how you dangerously cut him off causing him to have to E brake.

If you had known the situation ahead (and you could have it appears to me), there was likely an "optimal time" to move over that did not endanger the upcoming truck by cutting him off too short, and did not give the upcoming truck time to pass on the right. "Optimal positioning" is often required in this game. Not too fast, not too slow. Not too early, not too late. Not too wide, not too narrow.

But waiting until the last moments to move over is never a good choice IMO. Especially if there was not any traffic along side preventing you moving over on your terms and when it's your time

In other words, pay attention and use your head for something other than a hat rack.

    That about sum it up?

My theory is the driver runs the same route every night and is sick and tired of being held up at 45 miles per hour through the work zone. I did hear some chatter on the CB, a driver talking about his 294 mile turn every night, probably this very driver.

Now, my training has always been to stay in the right lane as a large truck belongs there. Right lane ends or is ending soon is no excuse for getting over to the left, certainly not too soon as it invites other traffic to get on my blind side for the sqeeze play.

Understand also this work zone was in Texas, Texas is very strong on Left Lane for Passing Only. Any reasonable driver will know no one passes in a work zone certainly not a 45 zone certainly not 20-30 miles an hour over the work zone speed.

I saw this guy charging up hard that is also why i kept to the right lane, I had zero interest in tangling with him should he do the stupid thing which he did. The smart thing would have been for him to slow down and file in line behind me merging over as I wanted to do indicated by my turn signal in the video you can clearly hear.

Looks like from the video , you waited too long to get over , and refused to slow down to not manufacture a close call. Is causing a wreck your goal? In the last year you have had more close calls then I have had in 26 years .

I slowed down and put my turn signal on, FedEx never slowed down at all. I could judge that by looking in my mirrors. Like I said, I think this guy runs this route nightly and knew what he was doing, trusting/hoping I knew what I was doing in judging his speed and not cutting out in front of him.

So what you're just gonna make your own lane and drive through some corn fields because a lane ending isn't a good enough excuse to get over? Lmao

    That's a little bit extreme isn't it?

I said it like 3 times this guy was a fast mover in my mirror, not gonna jump out in front a big truck going that fast hello. I had slowed down to the work zone speed and turned on my left turn signal, he still showed no signs of slowing down.

Yes I could have gotten over sooner and been rude, my philosophy is to do the courteous thing first and maybe this fast driver will slow down to let me over rather than me taking that space from him. Others have posted all's he would have done is gone around the ending lane and squeezed by anyway.
