Line haul is where the money is, but LTL is awesome for me cuz I go home every day!

I work OT almost every day, matter of fact, last week I worked 55 hours, 14 of those were last Friday.

We have Union and Health insurance is FREE!!!

Line haul pays more but they have no 401k plan and you're away from home longer than P&D

I'm pretty sure for 401k I was at least told they add a dollar per hour worked regardless of your contribution. Now not fully sure on how it works because I just started a few weeks ago.

    OMG can you imagine?
When I was a relay driver. I had guys a couple of times deliver me sets with the pinhook open on the dolly...the little piston in there sure does work, I would have never guessed you could roll 300 miles like that...

Just the idea of a loose trailer freaks me out. I always double check my king pins and pintle's and the pistons on the entire set. One night I had the mechanic double check my dolly just to make sure I didn't high hook it.

Not sure about everyone else's gear. But Reddaway has these build in plungers on the pintle that hold the con fairly tight. They are mainly used to fill the gap inside the pintle to prevent the eye of the con from rocking back and forth. I have my own personal checklist to do everything I can to ensure I don't lose a trailer or two (or three).

My carrier had 156 accidental disconnects last year. Scary as crap if you think about it.

Wow!!! I wonder how many were due to mechanical failure...

Were those in the yard, or on the road? Makes me glad I don't pull doubles. I'm paranoid enough about just one fifth wheel, let alone a second one plus a pintle hook to worry about.

Always check the pintel hook twice, that's what I do, learned that from a trucker on here.
