From what the safety guy said... It happened both in the yard and on the interstate. Luckily we had no injuries or deaths. CWF (XPO Logistics) dumped a set on the left coast. It killed a motorist.
My coworker dropped one four years ago. He drove with it for 30 miles, took the offramp, then as he made a left turn the back box fell off at about 10 mph. Glad hands on the trailer were angled down, so the airlines popped off rather than tearing off.

    Rebel2016 Thanks this.

i really enjoy overnight Linehaul. everything about the job is awesome except working Saturday morning, but it's worth the hassle. the mileage rate is very strong if you're home daily and the company is paying your benefits. how many miles a week are you expecting?

I had the same gig working linehaul. Ran Tuesday night thru Saturday. Friday night I picked up some kind of set from one terminal, and run it home. I would take that same set somewhere else after my ten and pull empties back to my home terminal. The sooner I got back Friday morning, the sooner I got start my ten then do my follow-on shift. If I played everything right, I would be home Saturday night around 9 pm. Plenty of time to have a nice long weekend with Monday off. I loved that gig.

When I started at Reddaway in Wyoming, I had never pulled, or hooked a set of trailers, but I had the endorsement. We pulled 2 pups ( sometimes ). Most of the time, it was Rockies. We were busy enough for a while, that 3 of us pulled them over to Gillette each day for P&D. They will show you how. Double check everything. And if your getting ready to leave the yard, and you ask yourself "Did I remember to do X". Get out and check it again.

Do you know if the Meridian Idaho terminal is union? I’ve heard both. Do you also know the top pay cpm for linehaul?

The only intermountain region terminal that I know of that is union is Seattle . I don't think any of the barns in Idaho are union .
