When you're traveling through Oregon do you fill up in Oregon or avoid filling up there?
I was told to avoid filling up since they don't recognize IFTA and tax you on miles regardless if you fill up or not.

Just have to know how to calculate ifta. I fill at jubitz or at the place on 84 at exit 216.
PE_T, Justrucking2, 2CAN and 1 other person Thank this. -
A) There's no sales tax on your purchase.
B) For the cost of IFTA tax ( remember its gallons burned calculated not miles ), I still come out many dollars ahead compared to fueling in Washington or California, especially California.
I fuel in Arizona, and can make it almost to Portland.
I fuel in Phoenix, OR at the Petro for the ride home, and make it to Phoenix, AZ with 1/4 tank left ( 50 gallons ).
Landstar has a IFTA tax, fuel purchase, fuel squeezer, program. I've done the math more than a few times.
On a side note---fuel is $1, a whole dollar cheaper in Arizona than California. And AZ holds $0.26 IFTA, CA is $0.34, so that's $0.92 gallon cheaper.
You have to be smoking crack to fuel in Communstfornia, unless you just aren't gonna make it.
I've bought a total of 120 gallons in the communist state in almost 7 months, and run almost 50% of my miles there. -
I can only fill up 120 gal tops.
-
You just have to watch where you buy, just like any other state. Pay at the pump or at the end of the quarter, it's all the same tax. All you can save on is the fuel
-
I always filled up there, the fuel was to cheap, IFTA or not, I think .89 a gallon or less. It has been awhile.
whoopNride and Oxbow Thank this. -
