    Hi.
I have a vehicle need to move across the country.
Seems all these brokers are just a bunch of scammers. I'd rather just pay a carrier.
What's the best way to get a price directly from a carrier and arrange the shipment?

    Thanks!

Thanks. I'd love to, but I don't know how to get that info. Google just come up with nothing but brokers it seems.

There's probably some hot shot guys on here who may be able to help you. They usually have their own authority and run the load boards.

The problem with this in general is, most companies ain't gonna do it. They aren't going to contract with you to run by and pick up a private citizens car.

Most O/O have contracts with their customers and cant haul for anyone else because they are bound by the contract to only haul for the customer.

As noted, some O/O run strictly the load boards and aren't contracted to any single customer.

Another option is to go through the process to get your load on a load board so companies or O/O will see it and call you about it. However, some of the above may still apply.

Another option is to get on some cheap-o load board like U-Ship (I'm not even sure if they're still in business) and Jim Bob will offer to pick it up for you. He may or may not have documents to legally haul it and may have makeshift equipment and experience.
In all honesty, I think U-Ship at one time tightened up their policies, due to a few calls from FMCSA, but there are some el-cheap-o shipping boards out there, I'm sure, where Jim Bob will pick it up for you.

But, hang on here on this forum and see if a hot shot is in your area, going your way to help you out.
So you wont be shocked, hot shot is gonna cost you $1.50 + per mile depending on what you can work out with the hot shot.

    Just my 2 cents......

Maybe a general area to and from would help. We don't need addresses
