The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania sent my company a letter claiming that I was going 68 in a 55mph work zone. I did not get a ticket only a written warning. What I came to find out is that the 55 mph speed limit came into effect at the bottom of a 6% down grade where the speed limit would be 70 mph otherwise. What happened was I was obviously in the process of slowing down from 70 mph but they must have set up a speed camera right after the 55 mph sign. I'm sure that they are mailing out plenty of letters for this one and it's no surprise.
Fired for going 15 over on a 6% grade.

Could the DriversLegal people potentially beat stuff like this?

Check the reason the company put for leaving on your Hire Right/DAC report. If it says quit/resigned that's what you should go with.
tscottme, Bud A. and Peace_Maker Thank this. -
My company also required we turn inspections in by a certain amount of days...I think a week. And the safety guy liked it sooner than later because if it was bad maybe he could fight it.tscottme Thanks this.

Well unfortunately……. Violations can also hurt you worst than a ticket…. Those violations can bring up
Your score on your CSA record which most companies look at when hiring!! The cop knows this which is why he is making sure you don’t get another job in trucking!! It can years for some points to drop off before another company hires you!! Welcome to dark life of trucking!! I can’t wait to quit trucking and retire!!Bud A. and Peace_Maker Thank this. -
No….. they only good for tickets and accidents!Bud A. Thanks this.

I had one do something similar, 2 mph over and failure to maintain lane on an inspection. There's no way to fight it. Cost me a $1500 bonus. BaCk ThE BluE!wulfman75 and CruzControhl2 Thank this.

I’m afraid so! CSA record is a very serious thing…. All companies look at that when they are hiring!! You can’t go over a certain amount of points or you will be considered un-eligible for hiring! I know this because the recruiting lady at Ashley Furniture they couldn’t hire me and told me if i wait a month, points on my record will drop off on my CSA and then i could be hired….so that tells me they are looking at that too! Allong with state MVR and clearinghouse and any other background check they could find!! so this is a warning to every driver out there, these cops know what they are doing when it comes to punishment…. a violation is harsher than a ticket…. Cops will tell you “oh i will just give you a warning this time”. I call bs on that!!

I worked at a company where multiple drivers were always getting speeding tickets. Commonly seen 10 and 15 over a couple times 20 over.
The company kept those guys on. (Not that it was necessarily good.) Seemed hard to be fired there you had to really mess up some equipment. I even once got a failed inspection for 5mph over and a abs light on that turned off soon as the trooper walked away. Sigh.Bud A. Thanks this.
