So if the trooper puts 14 mph over its no big deal? Why is a moving violation on an inspection report seems odd.
Was it a clean inspection then no violation except speeding?

Yes, clean inspection other than speeding.

15 over is reckless. No ticket means he can’t go to court and plead it down to a lesser charge. The only option is to DataQ it but it won’t be removed because he was in fact speeding. The trooper probably did it this way to make sure it can’t be reduced and make sure it follows him around for a few years on his PSP report when companies check it.

I got written for 2 mph over (67 in a 65) and failure to maintain lane on an inspection. (The failure to maintain lane was BS but I won't argue it here.) Anyway, when I pulled my PSP recently, that inspection is the only one of several I've had in three years that shows, but I'm not able to see what is on the inspection from the FMCSA site, though obviously I know what's on there. Probably hiring companies have access to that inspection report though. So my MVR is clean, but not my PSP. The thing that really sucks is there is no way to contest in a court of law whatever they put on the inspection report.

I guess if it were me, I would mention it without specifics if you know they pull the PSP. But you were not convicted of anything, so there's that.

This was US 50 east of Cañon City, CO. Fresh faced Colorado trooper. I'm sure he was an Eagle Scout.

I run down that little hill all the time. Along with many other grades about the country. It always amazes me. I get everything set just right at the top of the mountain and don’t even have to touch the brakes the entire way down and I’m basically able to maintain the exact speed limit. However, when I do this complete with my flashers on, I’m usually shocked how many trucks go flying by me at 65 to 70 mph. It’s just not worth it. They love passing out tickets to truck drivers rolling down these hills too fast. Funny thing it is. It only takes about two minutes longer to reach the bottom.

Original poster, I do actually feel bad for you! Seem like a good driver, decent person. Your company even didn’t want to fire you, but they had to due to their insurance.
