Probably more to the story. Swift drivers have done a lot of stupid stuff that caused damage to trucks and haven’t gotten fired. I’ve never driven for them but have seen posts on fb pages. Idling a truck too much isn’t cause for termination. Something tells me we’re missing some details

Since it looks like you’re on the surface of Venus I’d say you have a reason to idle. :biggrin_25523:

Yup, Something smells funny here. I spent over 2 years with Swift. I NEVER had ANYONE mention idling to me. The second Tractor I was issued had Opti idle. We need to bring Paul Harvey back from the dead so we can get "The rest of the story"

I drive for swift and I’ve idled always. Never had an issue with it. There must be something else going on.

I used to unplug the Qualcomm at night so they couldn't tell how much I was idling. I did get told to cut my idle time down a couple of times before I learned how to unplug the QC. The only time I didn't idle my truck was when I was on home time.

But to get fired for idling? I never knew anyone who got fired for idling. Fussed at, sure. But fired? Knight must have changed things since I left. Guess they don't have a driver shortage anymore.

Idling is bad, and harmful to the environment.
