Flatbedding can be both very rewarding and frustrating.
I have been doing it for almost 12 years and love it.
It can be hard work at times, dirty at others, but there is no better feeling of personal satisfaction, when you step back and look at the well done job when you're done.
If you dot have experience with skateboards, most companies will require you to go out from 2-4 weeks with a trainer.
Every load with a skateboard is different.
Once you get all the basics down on securing and tarping different types of loads, your on your own.
You learn a lot on the road talking with more experienced drivers.
You get out when you can and help other drivers, they help you and you both learn something.
Not to mention that your in better shape from climbing, lifting, bending, strapping, chaining, etc.
First year done...

Get your endorsements and look into ltl. Starting pay is over 20/hr for most companies down there with some paying overtime at time and a half after 40 or 45 hours. May not be as much as your making now, but grossing close to 1000 and only working 45 hours has been one hell of a benefit for my family!!!!
darthanubis Thanks this. -
You pull pups/doubles? And thank you for your advice.
