I didn't tarp a load of dispatcher brains once and they blew away. No one filed a claim though because they couldn't agree on the value of the load.

On a more serious note, flatbedders don't have to back up because customers are happy to see them and will allow them in the building. Whenever I see a dock bumper in the cage at a driver entrance I want to go up and feed him peanuts.

I seen a shipper hand a flatbed driver a door seal. This guy spend over a hour trying to figure how to lock the seal up...geez it just snap in buddy...

One time when I was hauling reefer I arrived at a reciever, expecting them to cut the bolt seal for us, but no they made us do it. They didn't have any bolt cutters and Wal-Mart didn't either, so ibtried using a torch that didnt work either...(duh but had to try) eventually we found a driver that had bolt cutters, which apparently all the drivers there were wanting to borrow it lol

I've been to a couple van shippers/receivers before and i was amazed how poorly i was treated. They don't acknowledge that you've arrived, the restrooms are disgusting and they try to treat you like a moron. Just one more reason to be a flatbedder i guess.

I'm guilty here lol. I picked up a shipping container and went to get it loaded. When they finished loading me which was extremely counter intuitive to get to just back up to a dock, wait a couple minutes then close the doors and roll. Nice change of pace though.

Anyways when they shipper was giving me the BOL's he gave me a seal and i asked what do I do with this. One of the van drivers told me you just push it together so I did... LOL

Shipper was a little perturbed over having to redo the paperwork now. That was my first time pulling something with doors though :D.

Give the OP a break. I bought my flatbed used and pretty sure the guy before me ripped the doors off since there are none now.
