So I’ve read through the 3600 pages of the Mercer thread, learned everything I needed to know but I have a few specific questions.
I live in Southern Va (Hampton Roads) but I run my truck out of Richmond, I’m curious if any of you guys are familiar with the freight in the area. I’d be looking to cover the east coast, south, and as far Midwest as KC Mo. Anyone running this sort of triangle making a good living?
Lastly, is it worth coming over during these current times in general? Are you guys hurting? Slow freight? Or the exact opposite from shortage of drivers?
Flatbed in Va info

Decent freight comes out of the port in Norfolk for open deck.
Carolina is hit or miss, lots of tarped lumber.
You’ll want to get in on the military freight out of Hampton roads, it’ll be the best paying as is oversized. Baltimore port and central Pa typically has good freight as well.9Ether Thanks this. -
I appreciate the info!

I’m out of Winchester, va9Ether Thanks this. -
How often do you choose to stay out to make a good living?

Depends on the OD freight and where it’s running.
Last month I was home every weekend and a couple stops for the night.
This month it’s been longer runs..
