I hear ya. I'm lucky I don't pay for fuel or I'd slow it down.

That's exactly why I started this thread!
I'll just keep doin what I'm doin' and be glad my ole truck (2004) is doing as good or sometimes better than the new ones.

Around 98,000lbs with truck and trailer and half full tanks. That's on the prairies between Edmonton and Manitoba

I have a 2007 Volvo 780 with a VED 12 465 hp engine, 3:42 rear end and Eaton Ultrashift. At 60 mph, I get 6.1 mpg on loads 40,000 and up. Between 30,000 to 40,000 I get 6.5 mpg and anything less than 30,000 I can see 6.5 to 7.5 mpg. I deadheaded from Tucson, AZ to Florida back in September, kept it at 60 mph and was rewarded with 8.5 mpg.

I used to cruise at 65 mph, but was only pulling 5.5 to 6.5 mpg. Slowed down and saved money. I also have an APU which increased my mpg drastically.
