There's tons of loads on that board that don't allow step decks. Set your search parameters to only show flatbed, and there's plenty of F, FV, FSD, and plenty of loads that specify no step decks in the notes.

I’ve only pulled car haulers and 53’ flats but from what I’ve heard is that a step does better West of the Mississippi and a flat East

Not saying either doesn’t work in the opposite areas and I do well pretty much wherever I run but that’s maybe a good rule of thumb if it’s true??

Yes, But I can count on one hand the times I've loaded off a dock.

Yeah, but Genie/Tenex in North Bend isn't one of them, unless they're taller booms that need the lower deck to beat height, or Gwinner, either, I think.

Both can make good money... stepdeck more oversize freight ... if ur just gonna haul regular flat freight then get a flat. If you wanna haul specialty stuff, then get a step.

Good point - more tall freight with a step.

I've decided on 53 foot flatbed.
More than double the amount of loads posted for flatbed than stepdeck in many markers.
Saw many posting that said no stepdecks also.

Rates I'm seeing dont justify the loss in volume of loads.
