I think, maybe - I just shopped around and got what I thought I needed to start out. Tri City Canvas does tax free to LS.

You are literally a few keystrokes away from literally thousands of guys that probably have used, but still serviceable, equipment that they would be willing to sell...

Thread title would read something like "Looking to buy used but servicable flatbed gear"... All it would take is a few keystokes and you would potentially have guys from all over the country offering to sell stuff to you.

Good point. He might also ask around the truckstops and see if anybody has some rigging for sale.

Here’s what I started with, 5 years ago - Tri City Canvas.

If you can be bothered going through it - all part numbers are there.

I only carry 8 chains and binders, and rarely use the chain hook end 30’ straps.

Not sure what kind of flatbed freight you haul but if it was me I'd do van for a couple months until you have the cash to get everything.

Hell of a lot more van freight with better rates right now than regular flat freight anyhow.

Kind of the same way I’ve been thinking lately if I lease on with Landstar.

Mercer is a no- go with their new camera policy for me. I originally was thinking Landstar way back when I started doing my research for running stepdeck .

Flatbeds A whole lot more equipment to buy , headache , rack, chains , tarps and a heck of a lot more work for a little more cpm

Not to mention the lesser fuel mileage

I’ve never pulled a van more than once and don’t know how I feel about bumping docks.

I would like O/O pulling tankers but the few companies out there offering specify no older than 10 years on the truck age.

Don’t think my 97 is going to Fly with that.

    blairandgretchen and JonJon78 Thank this.
