So I discovered Florida CDL backing test is graded on errors committed. Does anyone who has taken the test etc know how many errors are allowed during the backing portion?

Thanks, and be safe out there.

Why not call the FL DMV, or whatever they call the office that gives the tests?

I believe it is 12 points total.

    12 points total

2 points for every cone (encroachment) you hit

1 point for every extra pull up. You get a free pull up on the straight line, 2 free pull ups on the offset, alley and parallel

10 points if you blow the horn saying that you are in the correct final position and you aren't.

It’s been about 11 years for me, but @Todd727 answer sounds right from what I can remember.

p.s. The backing maneuver you get asked to do is luck of the draw, at least it was when I took the test. Lucky me (NOT!) got selected for the offset. On the plus side, I somehow managed to nail it without so much as a single pull up. That was 100% luck. Lol

I know in MS you do 3:
    1) Straight
    2) One offset (luck of draw which way)
    3) Either 90° or parallel

Yeah always wondered why a CDL test requires a reverse test as who reverse parks with a Tractor - trailer? However it does show if you know how to reverse, as long as you don't hit the curb, and back in straight you should be fine. Getting you to back onto a dock should be the standard test not reverse parking against a curb.

I think you mean the parallel parking and I've probably done parallel more than backing in to a parking spot lately. Parking on the street can be quite common over here.
