you'll get .80 per mile to go north. thats a steal cause fuel is only .40 per mile and your making .40 profit. right? Heard that from a broker when we went down to Florida once.

You need more like 1.25 to break even at least on a big truck.

Plant City is drywall or gypsum to me. If you go into Jaxville you can get Chain and cable all day but might need a flat for it. Florida north and west to me otherwise would be oranges by reefer out of Ft Lauradale. Had a number of loads out of there for the east coast and I suspected they were not necessarily high paying good rate loads because it was church groups that bought these oranges together for fund raising etc. FFE was rich enough to send us reefer team to go get it and run it.

Otherwise we left florida empty to load somewhere else like Georgia or something.

Yea for us it's about $1.00 but that is still at a loss since the driver just spent time and made no money. The way I see it. $1.00 for truck expenses, $.50/rmi for us to make some money.

We all would like to know.

Ive always had the feeling that rates were somehow state secrets and confidential between just two people. And never for anyone, especially drivers to know. IMHO.

That sort of sillyness needs to stop. A better educated work force leads to more oppertunites in this great Land of Opportunity.

you do have a point but this guy has asked about rates for at least the last 3 years. if you hauling for a $1 a mile wow just wow that broker probably made more then you did.
