I asked if I could end my employment this week (today my Friday ) , and I can.
I am happy to say in a few hours I shall be mega free!!!!
Have you ever been released from jail? It's much the same feeling.
Never made it to the J at all today.

Did that company get bought out?
Or why are you quitting?Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
What company would be large enough to buy Schneider? Maybe Swift and that'd be scary indeed

Dave's gonna F off for a little while. Maybe get an old Century or even a newer Volvo from Penske, if I can lease on with someone just delivering local stuff. I can't be gone over night, so that's that. If I could do that, I'd buy a Volvo today and probably be on the road with a load by Thursday or Friday.
A guy I worked with offered me a job for $25/hr. with a truck & gas card doing electrical service. That's more like work though.
Definitely taking Dad to Vegas this weekend or the next, rates are sky high this weekend, so maybe next.
Schneider was a " better some money than no money " experiment, and it was a lot like I thought it would be, F'd.
Dad's happy too, cause while I had two days in the week off to take him to doctor, etc., his dialysis is M,W,F. And me working weekends never gave us a chance to do anything really, and time is moving on, and days are numbered, know what I mean?
Schneider is BS. I think the guys that stay there just don't know any better or are trapped financially or trapped by some other condition. They are mega through & through.
I'm just not a mega company man. I'm a small company or Mom & Pop man. The last electrical company I worked for here in Phoenix was the biggest in town, like 400 electricians, a few days before I was scheduled to leave the President & The Director of Operations told me I could have any position I wanted in the company, I thanked them, and said I just want to drive a truck.
Those other drivers on that account I was on that had been there for years, had skills, I take nothing away from them there, some did anyway, the younger ones were a little rough.
If it wouldn't have been 15 minutes from the house, I'd never made it this long.
Between doing chores, taking care of Dad, sleep catch up, my two days off were gone in a blink, and there really was no time or energy to even pursue another job.
I have successfully planted my trees though.austinmike, Trucker Paul, PacoTaco and 4 others Thank this. -
