I walked into the Dothan Al J a few weeks ago, grabbed my plate and got some food. Asked 3 times for a glass of water and never received it. While eating I noticed two drivers get up and leave only to have their beverages brought out just as they were gone. It took a second but after realizing I wasn't going to get my beverage, I dropped a five on the table and left. It was a dumb idea going into a J for a "dining" experience, I had a few hours before I delivered and thought I would grab a hot meal. TA's food is not that great but #### they always have gone out of their way to make sure I am taken care of. So have some J staff but the bad J's are TERRIBLE !

They have went down hill some since TA bought them.

Morning buffet was cold just after they opened it up.

  5. Did you find out what the hours would be for those that are closing at night, I guess we will find out soon enough.

    1) i have to say that i've never really been let down by flying J buffet or regular food or service in general. That's why i continue to go to them.

    2) RE: petro
i don't go to bordentown petro anymore manly because their restaurant is nasty(dirty, disgusting and unclean), the restaurant service sucks and the truckstop in general is generally overpriced with $10 to park. Shame on some of the bishes that work in the restaurant.

i will say this though---the chef guy that cuts the meat is cool and can cook. i want to make this clear at least.

The J about 50 miles south at carney's point blows them away and has free parking to boot.

  8. I usually look over the buffet and if it looks like the food has been there a while I ordUnless you hit a buffet around a rush hour the food is going to dry out, it is what it is, food being kept warm and ready for you rather than something prepared from fresh from the menu. That was then this is now.

Now I eat a small bowl of granola w/yogurt for breakfast, veggies or salad for lunch, and 6-8 onces of chicken or steak done on my portable grill for supper. It is one balanced meal spread out through the day, with the first two meals being something quick and fast so I can get back to work. That along with a 45min workout most days will help me lose weight and live healthier

I think the title of this thread should change to "Flying J restaurants will no longer be open"

If the Pilot suits don't close 'em. The fall off in quality and service will.

The Subway Grilled Chicken 12 inch sub made my bowels loose. Subway is okay but yes, it's not too good to eat that for a length of time.
