I know the DOT rag states anything on mount to the windshield has to be out of the path of the wiper blades. But if I want to mount something on my dash, is there a regulation that states where it has to go?
I want to mount a tablet and my phone, maybe on one of those cool suction cup bar things, all on my dashboard.

I think it would fall under some other "obstruction" law. I remember there was one to counter all the crap people like to hang off thier rear view mirror.

Tablet is a bit large. I assume for traffic? I've always got a Garmin and phone holder. No one at the scales has ever mentioned it.

My Volvo has a glitch. When it's raining the wiper sweep won't clear the water from the left bottom, right side and it's very hard to see the fender mirror.
