It must have been one heck of a feat to make it take 200 miles to go from Fredricksburg to Baltimore. And you did it in 4 hours. Impressive brother. Very impressive. Yes sir, yes indeed.
Well doned281833, Bean Jr. and Maj. Jackhole Thank this. -

I hear ya. My son just got a new pete(company trk) with a paccar engine. My friend got a kw with a x-15. I am looking foward to see how these 2 engines do. Bet they won't outlast my c-15. Buy one never knows.?
Justrucking2 Thanks this. -
No word on the X-15 yet, but it is said there may be liner issues with them fretting and dropping like the 2250 and 2350, we shall see. The liner heights have been a huge issue with the past two generations of these new motors. The factory is really dropping the ball in the QC dept. The Paccars, my buddy's friend has his in the shop, less than 100,000 miles, crankshaft snapped. They normally snap at around 400,000 miles, around the time you are out of warranty. So, I think it is safe to say that issue has yet to be resolved. Paccar is replacing the motor.

How do you tell if you have a liner height issue happening? I have a 2350, all stock and emission doing what's supposed to be doing. I run it pretty easy most of the time. Almost never idle it excessively. In miles, probably about 210,000 on it now.
So far, it seems to be a decent motor. Once you get past the sound it makes it does sound like others have said - that it could break apart at any minute. It is not 100% confidence inspiring that's for sure. The next hood is going to have a yellow motor under the hood. I rather pay a steeper purchase price up front and have a truck I have complete faith in while saving on the added maintenance. Plus I think they will eventually outlaw the building of the new ones. Get one while I can. -
This publication from Cat covers all the math you can do to figure out the right specs for your truck.
