I don't know you, you don't know me, therefore I respectfully ask that you not make assumptions about me or my methods unless I have made it knowledge. You have no clue how I do things and assume that I'm an individual that is inconsiderate and untruthful.
You want to make generalized comments, fine, but don't attack me personally.

No assumptions, your words. I took no offense to the latter part of your message, just where you assume I do something a particular way. I.e. Where I fuel. -
Ooh! 3 whole hours to deal with "non-driving" stuff before it cuts into your drive time! We used to have 5 of those "working hours" before it started reducing our drive time. And if you're a door slammer, that's probably MORE than sufficient...but if you specialize in the short-haul and pull a skateboard, well strapping, tarping, untarping, and unstrapping will burn through those 3 hours pretty quickly...but that's besides the point. Point was, fueling at the beginning of the day and you spend 7-10 minutes doing something you'll need to do anyway at some point. Same task performed mid-day is going to take 20-30 minutes. In the morning, you're already at the fuel stop, so you don't have to slow down, exit, and navigate over there. You're also going to have to make your way back out to the highway and get up to speed whether you got fuel or not. It's called time management. That 15-20 minutes you saved allowed you to get 20-25 miles down the road. 20-25 miles per day 5 days per week is 100-125 extra miles. Or, you get to where you intend to stop 15-20 minutes earlier and have a slightly better chance to find a parking spot. At the very least, though, it cuts down on your "working" hours that you're burning through...saving that precious 70 for actual driving...completely legal and legitimate...instead of trying to figure out ways to cheat in order to save your hours.Longarm, scottied67 and TripleSix Thank this.

yesterday I scaled-out, pulled around to the empty fuel island, retrieved my weights, fueled up with 52 gals and did a pre trip. not everyday is exactly the same. could of been worse andvcould of better

You assumed in your first response that I have no business sense. You then tried a weak attempt at mathematics to add weight to your statement. It was the typical beancounter math. You even threw in a little scare tactic. And suddenly, you're butthurt when I call out your beancounting ways? How typical.

Even though I get fuel and pretrip at the same time, it is rarely an exact 15 minutes onduty. I might roll over to the pumps 9.75 hours into my 10 hour break if I see a lot of trucks over there, so that at the strike of 10 hours, I am hitting On Duty time. Most of the time my 'pretrip' time plus fuel looks like 22-28 minutes on duty. I get the time back in other ways...
