My company sent out this email this morning. Has anyone else's company sent out a similar email? If so post the location. This is going to become a big problem the higher fuel gets.

I wonder how much is actual theft and how much is an enterprising driver selling company fuel? Drivers selling fuel isn't unheard of and it's the easiest way to steal.
Think about it for a minute. To steal any significant amount of fuel you're going to need a power driven pump, several feet of hose, and some 55 gallon drums. You're going to need at least a half ton pickup to haul everything.
A pickup with hoses and drums in the back, slowly cruising up and down the rows of parked trucks or parked in front of one or beside one for any length of time is going to attract attention. It's not exactly a stealth operation.
If fuel is being stolen at the truck stop it's being stolen with, at the very least, the cooperation of the people working there. Neat little racket, the trucker fuels up and parks, the hired thieves go drain his tanks and put it back into the storage tanks.
Before you laugh, they busted a few guys at a small truckstop on 99 in California last year for doing just that.ncmickey, Another Canadian driver, Coffey and 19 others Thank this. -
I was getting a level 2, and the cop wanted to check my tanks for red diesel. When he put the cap on, he kinda gave it the beans. I didn't say anything, but I was thinking: "DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'VE DONE?!?!"Tug Toy, Another Canadian driver, Loudstacks and 13 others Thank this. -
If you already have locking caps keep them unlocked.
I had locking caps on my previous 389 and they were easily broken into and my fuel was siphoned.
On top of losing the fuel I had to spend north of $100 for each replacement cap. I had Peterbilt brand caps and had to end up with aftermarket ones since the original ones weren’t in stock.
Couple months later they stole the truck and trailer.
Both happened at the TA in Vero Beach, FL.Another Canadian driver, Coffey, Flat Earth Trucker and 12 others Thank this. -
