You're funny.

So MY LOGs are RIGHT anyway.
Where did I say/write that it wouldn't leave a 'Trail' -
I misinterpreted your post. I apologize.

bzinger and Balakov100 Thank this. -
Drive legal. Then you don't have to worry about it.

The answer to the OP is twin 150's, Mom and Pop fuel stations and enough cash to fuel when you really need it.
And that doesn't really make a hill of beans difference, since there are so many cameras monitoring traffic, scale and border crossings, etc. If you can't match your logs to your fuel times with a little strategic planning, you're doing it wrong. -
About 5 years ago there was a lawsuit arising out of a bad accident in the Fulton County (Atlanta) Georgia Courts. A driver had used a non fuel card for fuel at the Flying J A few miles south of Atlanta on I75. There was a false log element case and the driver did not log the fuel stop correctly. The plaintiff's Attorney got copies of all of the Flying J's fuel records for that day and compared them and found the last fuel before the driver and the first after. They got him and both he and his company lost in court. So yes if it is important enough the time can be determined.
bzinger Thanks this. -
You'd be better off fueling with cash money and tossing the receipt in the trash as if the trasaction never happened rather than trying to falsify your logs. Any time you get fuel using a card with your name on it or your truck number associated, boom the logs better match the time of the activitiy.
Now if you go into the TA at Ogallala Nebraska and look at their fuel desk, they have a signed paper stating that no cashier will co-operate over the phone with law enforcement regarding fuel reciepts. The cops and lawyers can still get subpoenas and warrants and believe me they have some of the finest forensic financial investigators money can buy to find every little detail about anyone. Even paying cash for fuel stil leaves a trail because of the cameras. You might think to drop your trailer and bobtail over to a little gas station with a single diesel pump but even that will raise red flags because everyone will remember the big old truck that pulled in which is unusual.bzinger Thanks this. -
Please forgive my ignorance and stupidity, but what is a forensic financial investigator?
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
