Hello keep this as short as possible, working currently with swift, hourly, local, the pay is the highest I have ever had backstory I have a learning disability ADHD among other things how does this play in well holding a job can be hard we don't take well to certain situations example I had a job in construction water truck Class B driving the guy was literally yelling and got in fights with employee couldn't stay due afraid being there. previous jobs were jobs most people don't want landscaping, custodian. That distant relatives think I need get a IRA or something put 100$ aside every payday. due job hoping I am constantly looking for a better job higher pay. could someone here recommend something better for that retirement due to job hopping I finally found a decent place big city I enjoy being home every night, not OTR tried that couple months were I had a major injury to the back. fell of top truck climbed top truck at shipper had in new york state something on the fence where you weighed there snagged to my foot in short fell and the fell down there steps now I am constantly worrying about my back because the pain comes and goes. what would be a good suggestion future job I thought maybe Walmart or ups but it would need to be in Dallas. any help with suggestion of job or the retirement be much appreciated. sorry for long post.

Better stay where you are and put the maximum allowed into a retirement account.
This may not seem much in the beginning, but when you see those monthly or quarterly statements, you'll be motivated to keep putting money into that account.Metallica88 Thanks this. -
my IRA is separate from swift currently only benefit I have is money while I was OTR and in process training OTR my window for benefits to enroll ended no chance to come home before in time, till November 19 benefits wont kick in till January I get no other benefits for that I think I rather make more money elsewhere they left a bad taste after everything and in short I still think I can do a better paying job and shouldn't stop looking for better paying job. I thought about oil field but I worry it will be like construction work very hostile work environment. maybe others can suggest better I can lift up 50lbs fine but over that like 100lbs can't or won't due to worry of the back.

Try for a solo driving job hauling mail. There's several of those around Dallas.
Try these placement services for those jobs:

I don't know how much they pay but maybe I should have started how much I want 1000-1500 average maybe that's a lot to others or very little but I know 1500 either weekly, 3000 bi-weekly or 6k monthly is what I am looking for take home my uncle does now I have a strict policy no working same company as relatives past work experience made me make such a policy. not on bad terms with uncles but he makes more than 1500 and anytime he needs spend night away from home they company puts him in a hotel not sleep in truck he works for a good company base what I know but for my lifestyle I want 1500 weekly home most week or not sleeping in truck more then one day. personally agree with my father, and grandfather who used be a trucker spend one-two night a week truck and come home originally that's why sleepers were made it was only a bed and nothing else I hold nothing against people who do it but for those who want to have an actual social life truck is a means make money not way of life thats my views and others my disagree but way this industry is warped compared was in 30s what my grandfather said I actually buy for most part.

Retirement gig?
3rd shift yard jockey for us foods, sysco, you name it. By the time you come in, the yard is already set up. Driver pull their loads out making open docks for delivery’s. You may move 3 or 4 trailers a night. Easy peasy baby. Actually have a buddy doing exactly this right now. Like he said, “i don’t have to sleep at home, because i sleep all night at work”bottomdumpin Thanks this.
