Is it true that if you're terminated from a company, other companies won't hire you?

Nope got fired on a Friday hired on thurs the next week. Depends on the area if they need drivers. Experience helps though I had a clean record and 10 years driving exp. with no accidents.

I would imagine it would depend on why you were fired.

Depending on circumstances getting fired makes it harder. The better the company you apply for after being fired the more likely they will not hire you. There is a database/reporting system similar to credit reports that many trucking companies subscribe to. Those company list accidents, firings, truck abandonment, and other things. If your firing company and your hiring company both subscribe to this report DAC / hireright.com it's tough to get hired. Not all companies subscribe or consult DAC. You are entiteled to a free copy of your DAC report at least once per year. Go to hireright.com and request your report. They will mail it to you or email a PDF to you. Either way it usually takes 15 days.

Most companies don't care; it's "what can you do for us?"

    Nope not true.
Matter of fact I've been fired twice by the same co. That's happened twice, two different companies.
I've also been fired two or three other times but , I do have a clean record and a impeccable on time record.

It would depend why you got fired in the first place
