I don't know about a "go home" bag, but during my last few years, I kept all my important things together. My briefcase, my laptop, and my shaving kit were always just a few seconds to get. In winter I would have my jacket on. Keep some cash on you for those things you might have forgotten about. In a normal situation with me having to travel because of quitting etc, I am in a rental car anyway! In the case of things like a riot hopefully, I would be in a position to avoid the area to start with.

    "Get home bag"

Well, I just had a sigh of relief. I was sure this was going to be some cruel joke about Big Maude.

The most important thing is a proper mindset, with that you can accomplish a lot. You are either the predator or the prey. I will not elaborate on any of it.

Interesting thread ...I too have wondered what I would do if things got dire away from home ?
I own my truck so I'd be keeping it full of fuel when things start looking iffy and when it hits the fan I'll drop that company trailer like a hot potatoe and avoid large cities as I head for home .
I already keep a shotgun at home handy and am considering one for the truck too.

It’s best just to carry a gun and rob someone for the supplies. Also go to the gym and work out. That’ll carry you farther than a bag of supplies, without dragging you down. I hit the gym religiously.

Oh, excellent idea, why avoid being around the problem when you can make it worse for everyone anywhere you are

I should have clarified... the worst possible I stated referred to an attack on the US with emp or some solar flare rendering all electronics worthless, including our trucks. Just wondering what yall would think would be needed to make a 300 mile walk to make it home.
