I learned to hang out in a hotel room or stay home. Thanksgiving to New Years day comes to mind. Unless you are running certain freight like narcotics and drugs needed right now by hospitals around the Nation that does NOT stop for holidays. That is where you want to be so that holidays are another work day.

The 4th of july is one in which we might pick a good stop and hole up with a grill or two throw some steaks and taters on them with some extras for the strangers in the area. That catwalk comes in handy for that.

Off over this holiday and ran my family to DC and back for the botanical gardens and art museum. Next day up in the mountains playing in a waterfall.

On days off with family I spend more time and energy with them than I do at work. As it should be.

I'm out here too:: 70 miles from Tuesday morning delivery sitting at a Pilot.. I actually enjoy the downtime to get some cleaning chores done and tv watching in! Lol.. but, then, again.. I'm old.. lol..Keep your chin up.. it takes getting used too..

Oh most definitely!! I will have 3400 miles in this week after I deliver this, so a reset of my hours and a little downtime is appreciated! :)

3400 miles is too much like working for a living. I'll take my 1500-2000 mile weeks with the accompanying $1200-$1300 gross paychecks.

Percentage pay beats chasing yardsticks any day.

laaylor and Pedigreed Bulldog Thank this.
