The busy scales usually redlight you anyway no? At least that was my experience when I had a prepass.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

I actually got the prepass paperwork on my first day here but with the constant breakdowns of these POS trucks I have not even tried to fill it out. It's just odd that 8 years ago out of trucking school getting paid 27 cpm team driving I had ezpass prepass and now I dont. I got USA Truck and Swift blowing by me while I got to pay cash at tolls. B4 this I got the green light at least 90% percent of the time at scales and in 8 years have had a dot inspection 2 times. So I guess I need to fill that stuff out asap. Anyone find out what those meetings are about? I'm going to have to take more days off then I would want just to fit the last one in. Last two weeks over $1700 take home a week. With a few days off between them. Still have not done a 34 on the road. Have not done one on the road in about 4 years and plan on keeping the streak going.
FSU Thanks this. -
They redlight you because either your company or you have or had problems in the past.

Yes. IRT was good for the short time I was there. Money to be made, and excellent equipment. I think this is a better fit for me though. The timing of everything makes it look like I am hopping, but I plan an staying put here this time. IRT is my first pick though if I were to leave. -
Well no short loads left on the board tomorrow so waiting until Thursday to try and get an out and back run so I can make that driver meeting. Just hoping to hold this old girl together until I can get back to the yard. APU blowing smoke like a locomotive and I am only able to keep my air pressure up to around 90-95 and then only when rolling down the road. Sitting in Tucumcari and can't roll out until later as I don't have enough hours to reach my destination until after midnight so looks like I will have time to grill up my last steak before heading out today.

Red lights don't always mean that you're company had an issue at that scale. The scale master can adjust the percentage of Prepass trucks to randomly pull in. At Crete, a company with a very good CSA score, I'd get red lighted once every 10-15 green lights...and then there's GA, who was red lighting all Prepass trucks for a couple of months...just to see how many overweight trucks were slipping by w/Prepass. -
Delivered in austin then 3 hrs later b/h called with poltex to cottage grove. Had to do 900 same because truck blew exhaust manifold gasket for the 3rd time in 3 months. Actually got a good loaner truck better than mine. Got to up north friday night. Was offered 1 load with 4 stops starting in bethesda md with final in Mass. Got wonderful load from b/h with 4 p/u's. First on thurday am then 150 miles away in port jervis ny for friday with 2 more p/u's in jersey on friday as well. So much for making meeting.

Here is the reality of it all , if you're 2 hrs beyond your 11 driving, and 2 cars tangle in the lane next to you , the rear vehicle spinning the other out and it ends up under your truck , resulting in a fatality.
The company you drive for is likely gonna be sued for a couple mil and you will not keep your job with them , bank on that ! Not to mention how useless the pre-pass would now be for every other driver that drives for the same company cause the CSA rating just went down the tubes thanks to one driver thinking he can do whatever !
Good luck with your thinking !mushroom1464 Thanks this. -
I ended up leaving home and picked up in LaGrange going to Waller. The broker said the load wasn't suppose to be ready until Tuesday, but said to start heading that way and they'd see about an early pick up. Sure enough, I get half way there and I get comfirmation that the load is indeed already loaded and waiting. I picked it up @ 1730 on Monday, by 1730 on Tuesday, my old(tired) buttocks is empty in Waller. I told backhaul that it would be morning(since I ran 665 miles today) I just get a good nights sleep.
On a funnier note, my boss(a.k.a. my wife) dope slapped me then handed me the checkbook and said "don't you dare think about leaving Poly" ...it turns out that the driver I spoke to that claimed it wouldn't take but a few months or less to get caught up from the switch to Poly was right...now I'm back on the "why didn't I come here sooner" band wagon and have re-submitted my application to the "I love my job" club.sc00ter, mushroom1464, Dinomite and 2 others Thank this. -
Hey FSU was that you in the loaner truck I was following in Florida on Sunday? I followed a poly truck all the way thru Jacksonville and down 95 until the scales where they pulled in. I would have chatted but my CB is on the outs. I can hear but can't talk. I was headed to west palm beach.
