Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

Found out something new today. Poly doesn't pay for ice removal at the truckwash. My loaner is a mess, trailer too. So I pull in the Dallas BB to have it washed before I return to Poly central, and with luck, getting back into my regular truck. I didn't want to drop a dirty truck for the next guy if mine was ready...however, I couldn't get the boss to approve it so, here I am at GP...sandcicles and all.

 

My truck still wasn't ready. Over a week and they said another hour...then an hour and a half later I gave up and got my paperwork assigned to my loaner and I was at the gate. But, the guard had me
go back to shipping for a recount.....uggg. I have some time on the load, but not a whole lot of extra. I finally got out an hour after my planned departure...which screwed up my 14 for the day. But, I will still make it home, so I guess all is well.

 

Enjoy that home time SSB. Picked up a back haul of toilet paper in SC that is heading to Sam's in Dayton, TX so that should keep me out of trouble weather wise for a couple of days.

 

A little humor...

The other day after sliding thru TX, I made it to the Gateway Travel Plaza in Kilgore, TX. Inside there was a Wendy's. Since it was cold, I had my heart set on a big bowl of Wendy's chili.(I know, fast food chili...but it beats what I ended up getting instead) I went in earlier and they were open and serving. I did my laundry ($1.25 per wash or dry) and went in to get my chili...but by then they had the tables and chairs across the entrance and a sign that said 'Closed...since we only serve fresh, never frozen beef we have not received our beef shipment today due to the weather, we will reopen once the truck arrives. Sorry for the inconvience"....so, here I am in the middle of 'cattle country' and I can't even get a lousy bowl of meaty chili. The funny part is...Clara Peller's voice kept running thru my head..."where's the beef?" I ended up getting a grilled chicken salad from the places deli cooler...with...gulp...fat free italian. The only other thing around within walking distance was Denny's, and I only eat Denny's when I need to lose weight via the food poison diet.
