You're right about those fines...they will fine you in West Virginia for not stopping at the one in Bruceton Mills on 68. My friend got a Qualcomm message about a driver for his company that got caught my DOT. He got a fine for not stopping, on top of other issues they found after an inspection. That driver was fired

Make sure your Jake's work. And go down in 6th or 7th gear. Or 5th for a series 60 Detroit.

You can go down Monteagle without jakes. You just have to go slow, I do that anyway on steep hills

It's a white sign with black letters directed to all commercial vehicles, so it's not a suggestion, it's a lawful rule of the road. No different then a stop sign. Would be an easy ticket if they decide to observe for violators

There'll be a officer sitting there waiting and waiting if its a really quiet road just for you and he'll be saying " go ahead make my day"

Nope. Eaton automatic. But my brake works pretty good (I hope). Friend drives for Schneider and he said he leaves it in 10 and uses the engine brake. No problem.

    Every truck is different.
Even grossing 77,000 versus 79,500 changes what gear you want to be in.
And all drivers need to know when they chose too high of a gear and be able to downshift safely going downhill.
