I ended dropping the trailer after all. It sucks that these can't be fixed in a timely manner. I finally got a trailer that has functioning spring brakes though.

You could have always just used the trolley brake to slide the 5th wheel

Get the truck up to 5mph in whatever direction you need to slide and lock up the trailer brakes. That will usually break them free and allow a more precise adjustment. A 10 year old trailer loaded down with 45k pounds of freight and/or bent rails, it's about the only way. I know you had no brakes on this one and used the chocks but in the future....

Or drop the landing gear, drop the airbags, and slide.

lower the landing gear till they are firmly on the ground, use your trailer brake and slide.

i use the trailer brake in conjunction with this, works best. :)

I didn't even think about the tractor bags. Will try that next time.
I got my truck back and have a load to Oakland, CA for Tuesday. The truck has more power with the new injectors. I am 78,500 lbs and there are a couple hills between Rogers and fort smith, AR I would be in 6th for a short time with is kind of weight. I climbed them in 7th today and stayed in top gear much longer than I normally could running that route.

Sense I don't know where you started Ill just throw this out there. If your taking I-70 thur Denver make sure you swing thur the Denver yard and grab your self some chains. The Scale house up top likes to check to make sure you have them.

I'm on my way to Chico, CA. Not looking forward to dealing with Donner but when I checked the cams tonight it was dry so that's a plus.

Be safe out there Fajo. I was out that way last week during that cold front. Back on east coast now for hometime.
