yea, i'm gonna ask some higher ups about that free deadhead i did.
He called me before i drove it and said in a convincing way "instead of not getting home this weekend, we are going to let you drive our truck home for free" "were paying for the fuel to get down there, and were not gonna pay you on top of that to go home"
he is one of those people who is good with words, and could sell ice to a polar bear. -
You don't pay me, I don't log it. If I don't log it I'm either driving illegal (which I don't do most of the time) or not drive at all. Like they say... never agree to anything on the phone, always use the QC
. Oh, you want me to either drive for free or not go home? Can you send that on the QC? *Hangs up* Then either call your Ops Manager or Safety...

yeah if that load was picking up from their customer around your house then it should be paid miles. The location of your house has nothing to do with their customer nor does you sitting at your house till the load is scheduled to be picked up.

I ain't driving anywhere for free...Bad enough they short us miles on every run.

i got a prehire i grad oct 12 from nettts in R.I they told me i have the option right over the phone of OTR or regional i made it clear i wanted regional just so i can be home more often Jamie C is the one who called me im loooking forward to it allowed to have a passenger right when i get my own truck i dont have to wait 6 months like roehl "pronounced rail" lmfao i think when you have to put that on your trucks its time to just change the name to rail lmao but anyways should i be excited about regional? or should i be running the other way?

First of all, they both required 90 days in your own truck before you can have a passenger, unless USA has changed that policy in the last 4 months. Also, its not usually the company that sets this time limit. Its part of the insurance requirements.
Secondly, its spelled the way it is because its the founders last name, Everett Roehl. I believe its German. Anyway, his son runs the company now and they treat their drivers very well.
Also, the pronunciation comment isn't on the side of any of our trucks.
As for USA, everything will start out very well and then it will slowly go downhill from there. I'd suggest you read some of these forums and talk to a lot of drivers at USA.
Good luck and be safe. -
they did end up paying me all of the miles for that "Free deadhead" i did to go home that weekend.
I complained to my FM's boss.
I hear ryan bush is one of the most hated FM's. No one likes that guy.
And I hope someone at USA motortior's this forum. I want them to know that truck 1587 hates ryan bush! -
LOL...I'm sure there are more that are hated besides him. But the thing is, no matter how many complaints they get, they are never going to better the company until they start listening to the drivers...The folks that run the company.

the trailers i see around here say the whole pronunciation thing and the whole name thing was a joke i figured it was the dudes name i also got a prehire from them but hometime kinda sucks not to sound like a mommas boy but to make 700 a week and not be home really? but im asking honestly what can i expect to make realistically at usa and i have spoken to about 3 drivers granted they were otr no not recruiters drivers i happen to see and have a convo with
