I assume you were referring to me. Haven't been back here in weeks. Anytime you want to discuss anything, especially the Kenyan Commie Boy, feel free to head to the political section. We try not to hijack threads here-dude . The man was looking for info and advice.

After 3 yrs with Swift, spent the last 2 months looking, I am in a bad area, Michigan..
Werner seems to be the only one worth anything that's hiring from the area I live.
Indianapolis is the destination for orentation.
I understand like any other company such as this the standard BS applies..
My question that I have'nt seen address here is..
Once I am issued my truck,,how long can I expect before I will be able to swing by the house and get the rest of my things?

I should be going to Werner in July. My advice is simply to keep and open mind. According to half the posts here there are NO good companies to work for.

Go out, learn, and get some experience with Werner. If it doesn't work, then you'll be able to look at other companies and other options.

Keep in mind that for all the tales told here, you are only hearing one side of the story. I would love to hear the trucking company's side before I make a judgment.

    Best of luck to you.

Well to be Honest. It will be about a week to 1 1/2 weeks depends on the dispatcher you will get.. Im not blowing smoke either I did work for werner for 7 yrs.. when U go an if there is anyway U can take the stuff that u really need take it now.. or u taking the Bus or is someone driving U there to the Indy Terminal?
Good Luck an btw Im not dogging Werner at all either but work with your dispatcher.. Oh an when U are assigned your truck PLEASE make sure you do a good walk around an mark down ALL Dents, scratches, if the grill is broken or cracks the stacks are bent anything the littles scratch or dent or small cracks or big ones.. if u dont make them on the paper U will be held lible for them.. just giving u a heads up.. Good Luck an Make it what u want it to be.

Im with werner now.. still with trainer... we was broke down for a week.. he goes home every weekend..so im stuck in a motel every weekend.. I get to drive my share of hours.. but they will run you like a team.. non stop.. cept for fuel ..the weekly shower is correct.. take plenty of food... We dont stop..
Back at every place you can.. they have some really bad docks we have to bump..
My trainer is almost a 2 million miler.. he is great...but werner is not so great..but it is a job.. I have not been home in 4 weeks now.. it took me 3 weeks just to get 87 hours.. cause of the break downs and trainers home time.. the truck im in..does not have an apu.. and werners idle policy sucks.. get you a 12 volt fan..is you go in the summer.. we are on a dedicated run.. so we go the same places.. lot of setting and waiting for loads to be unloaded at the stops.. the last stop is drop an hook.. But like I said.. it is a job.. keep your head up.. stick it out.. get that experience...then run as fast as you can from werner...lol..
We are setting in the middle of BFE now.. getting unloaded... been here since 7am..its now 8:30.. and still have about another hour..waiting..
Once I got on the road with werner.. I was getting calls from all kinds of other companies.. so if you can.. wait a couple weeks before jumping on the werner wagon.. I went straight from refresher to werner.. my bad..lol.. but hind sight is 20/20..

Yea I went with a trainer on the dg acct for a couple days before they sent me home on leave to get a new license(I moved to a diff state than my license) after about 20 people said "oh it's fine". But yes we did run like teams.. And stopped only for fuel and had one meal at a truck stop diner.. No 5 star... Hell, even 3 star meal. My trainer was also upfront and asked if I brought enough clothes for about a month because he doesn't know if we can stop for laundry. I really didn't learn anything the few days with him, not to toot my own horn but I got the driving aspect down.. I just didn't learn anything about how the dg acct works, or the qualcom or anything company wise. I'm hoping going back my new trainer will be somewhat better and I won't have anymore issues.
