It's a function of the split sleeper. In the example you had, your 14 would have stopped at the point you first went of duty/sleeper at the shipper.

You then would have your 14 available to go wherever you needed, without doing PC . That was the reasoning behind the rules change on split sleeper. To not have to use PC when extended at a shipper.

Once you got to where you were going you can still take a 10 or as much time as you want. Just have to ensure that 8/7 hours of it is in sleeper to satisfy the split, but you can remain in the sleeper/off duty as long as you want.

Well, using PC worked for me this time. I wasn't advancing towards my next load so I didn't have that concern.
With the refused cargo in the trailer I would have had to go to the terminal anyway, so it was just as well.

Today I went to pick up a load in Mitchell, SD.
Turned out my pick up number was wrong. The shipper said that load didn't exist.
CSR wasn't any help at all. Just kept telling me to use that same number, and to send the name of the person that told me it was no good.
He even got to yelling at my DM about it, telling my DM that he was getting in all sorts of trouble over this.
? My DM was just doing his job and wasn't at fault for anything.
I got there at around 0930 and load had a pickup time of 1600. CSR said the loads are not ready before the scheduled pickup time and keep trying.
Live loads in a FCFS place.
The guy in the office has a list of all the loads, and that one simply was not on it.

In the end they voided that load and sent me an identical load that had a pickup time of 1600 tomorrow.
I went in with that number (mentioning that it was scheduled for tomorrow), he looked it up, and told me to take dock 3.
I was loaded and on my way 45 minutes later.
Don't have the loads ready early, right?

Whenever I get a Costco load to Fargo or Sioux Falls, I always hope for a next load from Graphic Packaging in Mitchell.
    They are a good shipper.

I've taken as much as 5 hours off duty and it extended my 14 to 19 hours.

North Canton, OH at the TA tonight.
2200 and there are explosions. A fireworks show just started, not sure why. But I guess any time is a good time for fireworks.

After the strange delivery in Wooster, I guess it is just icing on the cake.

I guess freight is none too good here in Kansas.
The only pplan I got was a load picking up today at Edwardsville and delivering Tuesday morning in Clear Lake, WI. Just over 500 miles.

I was going to turn it down, but then I realized that I could fit in a 34 at home. A little unofficial home time would be nice.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

    jurupa terminal.
first stop i dropped a trailer at the requested ddoor.
the empty was right next to that one.
yellow pole was right in front of open door.
had about an inch of space.
could see whete driver who put it there scraped the pole. left yellow mark.
took pictures and sent to dl.
i said i think i break the door off if i moved it.
he said to leave it. so i did.
the next stop he sent me to recover a trailer that was parked on a street by a custumer.
    had two parking tix.
    one on 8/3 for 219.00 and the 2nd on 8/6 for 63.00.
    turned them in to dl.
he said its drivers that swift logistics uses.
    other 2 loads went good.
