Get off the exit for the Loves,, at the 4 way stop light, instead of proceeding straight to the Loves, turn south and go down and bear right on a curve/turn thing and there is a customer ( I think Pepsi?) a little ways down. You can sneak in there and park around back with all the other Swift's no one would be the wiser.
Winnemucca NV got in with 15 minutes left on the 70dptrucker Thanks this. -
At home til in the morning but wanted to wish all the Pappys out there a Happy Fathers Day. I'm spending mine getting best in bowling.

thanx scottie. burt made it to sumner. i think thats my final destination, but on the dispatch its called quaker dc

Chambersburg DC. I'm on that dedicated account.
We have dedicated drivers that don't have those keys. We recently had a complete change in office staff, and several drivers left with them, or soon after. Of course, they didn't bother to turn in their keys. Target is being rather slow in getting more made for us.
You should have been able to complete a trailer swap in under 5 minutes, especially if you dropped the loaded trailer before going off duty.
So what you're saying is that rather than having your daily reset happen in the morning, you chose to push it out to the middle of the afternoon... guaranteeing that the next load would deliver after hours, rather than when the store is open.
When you get a Qualcomm message while in the middle of your 34, do you go on duty to read it?
Had this happen to me more than once. The brake line gets snagged under the corner of the catwalk.
Actually, to be legal, you should have been logged On Duty the entire time you were waiting for the service truck to arrive. If you can't leave the truck... it's On Duty.
Yep; the new auto "reminder" that was implemented a few days ago. I get one of those most days...
You went On Duty, sent the macros, and went back off duty in under 5 minutes, which meant that the On Duty time wasn't on the official log.
Nobody was asking you to "fudge" anything. With one exception (that I'm aware of), nobody in that office has a CDL, or knows the logging regs. They only know what the drivers do, and you are likely the first driver they encountered who went on duty to perform a short non-driving task.
I'm not sure what you mean by "blindsided". It's true they didn't have a key for you, but they gave you a workaround. I still don't understand why you would blow out your 10 over a quick trailer swap.
If you are still in the area, see if you can get a daylight run. That would go much smoother for you.
Then again, some people are best suited for OTR...Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
I got a message this afternoon from Cyndie... I see you are still around, could you please take a load...
So I accepted it and headed over to pick it up.
I went inside when I got there and Cyndie was there. We got to talking a bit, she is a nice lady.
She had no hard feelings about my little rant yesterday. In fact she pulled up the load list and let me choose the best one to get me headed west tomorrow for my b-service.
She would have stacked me with another load that would get me to Denver for home time, but I can't be sure how long the service will take in Columbus.
And for taking the load she gave me an extra $25 bucks, which I found out about after the load assignment came through.
She didn't offer it as an enticement for me to take the load, she added it after I had accepted it.
Classy lady.
There was a manager at the store when I got there, and the delivery went very smoothly.
I think things just got off on the wrong foot those first couple days, and I didn't like feeling like I was being highjacked when I have things I need to get done.
As it is I'll be within 100 miles of being put on maintenance hold when I get to Columbus.
But I learned some things when I was in the office today - about the people and the drivers there, some of the obstacles (extra keys have been ordered, by the way), and how much they really seem to care.
Todays experience has redeemed that Target operation from my standpoint, and I hope it is mutual with them concerning me. -
well thats good it is working out after the hassle
Went to Livermore for the first time in several months, was very gusty winds on the I5 and 580 and lots of dirt in the air
Happy fathers day as well to the fathers out there, I got to enjoy yesterday and early afternoon with my family and my wife did a great job taking care of me this year with gifts I cant see her topping again. -
Winnemucca, nv is super cold in winter. -18 when I was last there. Sure don't miss otr LOL
-
She really is. She's our new on-site manager; recently promoted (?) from the night manager at the Costco DC down the road.
Good to hear.
I'm sure it has. The fact that she asked you to do a load tells me that things didn't get screwed up too badly.
I can tell you stories of the boneheaded things that some OTR drivers have done... like stop for their 10 less than 5 miles from delivering at the store.
Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
