Wow.
I have trouble enough just keeping personal effects in the truck, with a few tools for minor stuff.
I guess I like too much to stay 'lean' on stuff taking up room.
But a torch, with the tanks...
All these things that take up so much room, just to save a couple hours of time.
And the expense, personally, that goes along with it.
I guess it is why I don't lease or own a truck.
I am just too lazy, and like my space and time too much. -
I've met a couple Swift drivers that don't carry any tools whatsoever. I really don't get that.
Lepton1, Cjh_army and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
We need tools for the odds and ends.
Tell me, how does one adjust Volvo low beams - and what tools are required? -
You don't need a torch with tanks. Not the one you're thinking of. It's just a small portable propane tank. Usually blue. Maybe a foot long and a couple inches wide. And there is a torch tip that applies right on the tank. No hoses needed. All you do is crank the propane on with the knob attached to the torch tip. Then use a lighter to get the flame going. You can get the set for around 20. Replacement tanks are around 8 bucks.
One Thing I found out is that the tanks can freeze. So I've yet to use mine. Have used my hammer tho.Moosetek13 and Lepton1 Thank this. -
Get a Schrader valve tool as well . Pulling a leaking "plug" with 100 and some pounds of pressure behind it can get sporty in a hurry .Lepton1 Thanks this.

If he was truly old school he would have cracked a beer and taken an overflow mouthful just as he lit it off to put out any fire left after the bead up explosion . Ah yes , the good old days .

He's lucky the black helicopters didn't come swooping in and arrest him on domestic terrorism.
No it's way easy. Pull object out, ream hole with rasp tool then place plug piece in slotted tip tool perpendicular wise, slather with rubber cement and insert into hole and quickly pull it out, the plug is now folded in half- half in and half out of the tire. Inflate. Mine still had a leak only because the object was a broken piece of snow chainlink-- large and oddball shaped compared to a straight nail or screw. Was able to get to a tire repair place and fix for $36 bucks all in.
I've got the torch that screws onto the green propane bottles. Used it all the time to start fires in the hearth or camping fires. Burn weeds out of the cracks in the driveway and nests of ants and cremated a hornets nest. -
Then again, repairs are not so easy when it is -3 degrees, with a wind chill of -30.
Everything seems to get a bit stiff. -
Not everything, some things just down right disappear!inkeper, scottied67 and Moosetek13 Thank this.
